Behaviour and Learning Assistance Program
Check out the schools that offer the Behaviour and Learning Assistance program assisting students with chronic, extreme, pervasive anti-social behaviours. Programming supports students to achieve academically and to develop and apply acceptable behaviour and social skills in the classroom, school and community.

Students are grouped together for enriched, challenging and well-paced programming specifi cally designed to meet the special educational needs of high ability learners.
Community Learning Skills Program

Programming focuses on assisting students to learn and use basic academic, communication and personal skills in the classroom, school and community.
Community Learning Skills/Behaviour and Learning Assistance Program
Check out the schools that offer this special combo program. Programming focuses on assisting students to learn and use basic academic, communication and personal skills in the classroom, school and community. Some schools also offer Community Learning Skills and Behaviour and Learning Assistance programming which assists students with moderate cognitive disabilities and extreme behavioural difficulties.
Check out the schools that offer Deaf or Hard of Hearing programming options for students who have moderate to profound hearing losses. These include a bilingual/bicultural learning environment using American Sign Language (ASL), total communication programming and other community school supports.
Check out the school locations that offer Early Education supporting children with severe disabilities, aged 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 years. Programming focuses on cognitive, self-help and social skills, speech and language, and motor development. Parents and staff work together to support each child.

Individual Support Program
Check out the schools which offer Individual Support, assisting students with severe to profound developmental delays who may also experience physical, sensory or behavioural challenges or medical conditions. Students participate in programming to gain functional skills that enhance their quality of life.
Check out the schools offering Interactions, which is designed to meet the special education needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders who have difficulty with social relationships, behaviour and communication. Programming based on individual needs and abilities helps each student gain academic and life skills, and to develop and apply communication skills and socially appropriate behaviour.

The program fosters student independence.

Students acquire strategies and skills necessary to achieve and understand their learning challenges, with the goal of returning to regular programming.

Kindergarten Inclusive Developmental Services ( K.I.D.S.)
K.I.D.S. supports Kindergarten programming for children with special education needs by providing ongoing multi-disciplinary support to principals, teachers, teacher assistants, parents and children who are eligible for Alberta Education funding in regular Kindergarten classrooms. The only school South of the river accessing this program is Waverley School.
